Description
We are looking for an Interior Level Designer to join our team and contribute to our upcoming title, Blind Descent. As a Level Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the player’s experience by designing immersive and well-balanced interior environments. You’ll work closely with our art, gameplay, and programming teams to create levels that are both visually stunning and gameplay-rich.
Responsibilities
- Design & Implement interior level design
- Create engaging melee and ranged combat experiences in level design
- Effectively place environmental hazards to improve experience
- Collaborate with art and gameplay teams to ensure cohesive level flow and visual design
- Iterate on level designs based on playtesting feedback to improve player experience
- Optimize level layouts for performance while maintaining visual and gameplay quality
- Ensure levels support a variety of player interactions and strategic choices
- Integrate sound and visual effects to enhance atmosphere and player immersion
Qualifications
- Strong interior level design portfolio (videos are preferred)
- At least 1 year of Unreal Engine experience
- Ability to place blueprints & AI bots to the level design
- Ability to create simple blockout 3D models
- Understanding of gameplay flow, player progression, and spatial design principles
- Experience working with lighting and post-process settings to enhance atmosphere
- Proficiency with version control software (e.g., Git, Perforce)
